Start your trip by visiting the fragrant fields of Laveanne lavender farm. Just 30 minutes’ drive from our cabins, this beautiful botanical destination is an artisanal grower and producer. Kids will love getting lost in the giant lavender labyrinth. Get adventurous at Tree Top Trekking and zipline through forests.

Make new furry friends at Old Mill Alpacas. Just outside Colborne, it offers hands-on cuddly animal experiences with alpacas and farm tours.

Embark on a thrilling reptile journey at Canada Dinosaur Park. This unique drive-thru attraction allows visitors of all ages to get up close and personal with animated, life-size dinosaurs from the Jurassic period. A reptile sanctuary adjacent to the park also features bone excavations, a gift shop, and a mini-golf.

Complete your stay with a visit to the outrageous Primitive Designs. Here, you’ll witness larger-than-life robots, dinosaurs and a pirate ship, along with other curious treasures and antiques.

Find romance amid the local viticulture. Just 30 minutes drive away, Rolling Grape Vineyard is one of the region’s premium growers. Sample its signature Pinot Grigio on the scenic patio.

Dine à deux at Villa Conti Oak Heights. Recreating the magic of Italy in Northumberland County, this exceptional winery presents tempting risotto and antipasto, all washed down with its delicious Cabernet Franc.

Take a boat ride together on picturesque Rice Lake. You can rent a boat from Northumberland’s marinas (or jump into our canoes) then float out on Rice Lake’s tranquil waters.

Pull on your boots and kick off your trip by conquering 10km of attractive trails at Ferris Provincial Park, just 25 minutes away. Look out for woodland blooms as you pass through forest and riverside settings.

For seriously epic views and Insta-friendly moments, head to Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Hover over the mighty gorge as you gaze over carpets of trees below you.

Immerse yourself in ancient local history at Petroglyphs Provincial Park. Home to Canada’s largest collection of Indigenous rock carvings and the mesmerizingly emerald-hued McGinnis Lake, it’s worth taking a whole day to explore.

The name “Canada” is based on the Huron-Iroquois word Kanata, which means “village.” Deepen your traditional knowledge by visiting the Curve Lake First Nation Cultural Centre, it is one of the only First Nation-owned and operated Cultural Centres in Ontario. The centre is a source of knowledge dedicated to keeping Traditions and Ceremonies alive within the community.

Venture to the Whetung Ojibwa Centre just next door for a stunning display of indigenous handicrafts, including fine art, jewelry, moccasins, sculptures, and more, crafted by artists from the Curve Lake First Nation and across Canada.

Get ready for a brand-new, state-of-the-art experience as you visit the Canadian Canoe Museum, set to reopen in summer 2023. This museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating Canada’s rich cultural heritage and canoeing stories.

Head to the Alderville First Nation Black Oak Savanna for an outdoor adventure. This stunning area is home to various rare plants and animals and features a 3 km trail system that takes you through diverse habitats and ecological restoration efforts. Guided tours lasting one hour are available to help you understand the efforts to protect the largest native grassland in central Ontario.
